Alison graduated in puppetry from the Central School of Speech and Drama, London in 1995, She works as a performer/maker in the theatre and television using puppets, objects and shadows.

Together with musician/boatbuilder Alex Finnegan (Also based at 36 Lime St), Alison formed Spelk Puppet Theatre to create enchanting visual theatre for young audiences combining puppetry and live music.

Alison and Alex are currently setting up a puppet theatre on a sailing barge to be moored on the River Tyne.
