Matthew Blackman is an artist who paints on walls and objects as well as canvas and paper. He has had 25 solo and group shows in the UK and abroad. He leads arts workshops for schools, and since September 2004, he has been artist-in-residence at St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Gateshead.

In 2005, he began a public realm commission for Gateshead Council. His abstract and still life paintings, plus limited edition photographic prints from his installations, are available for sale now, and for exhibition in 2006 - 2007.
